The Women in Beekeeping project is a joint partnership between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Entomology and the Center for Rural Affairs (CFRA). The goal of this program is to create a collaborative learning environment for women focused on improving pollinator knowledge, colony health, colony management, and landscape management through learning circles, and one-on-one hive inspections. To understand the impacts of this program, we followed nine beekeepers during their involvement with this program. Through mixed methods we collected data on changes in beekeeping knowledge and colony management strategies. In this presentation, we share data on the impact of the Women in Beekeeping program on participants.
