This talk will focus on using plant essential oils to overcome deltamethrin resistance in common bed bugs. In the beginning, resistance levels of a field-collected bed bug strain to plant essential oils, their constituents, and EcoRaider® will be discussed. Next, synergistic interactions of plant essential oils, their major constituents, and EcoRaider® with deltamethrin in the resistant bed bug strain will be presented. In the last section of this talk, information on potential mechanisms of synergism between plant essential oil constituents and deltamethrin will be discussed.
