The typical Xanthopygina rove beetles have startling bright coloration and are frequently found in lowland tropical rainforests. A new enighmatic xanthopygine rove beetle genus is presented from the Northern Andes, with three new species. These beetles are dull brown, have lost their hindwings and are found in high elevations, in sub-humid paramo ecosystems.
