Interning at Preston Rose Farm and Brewing Company allowed us to see first hand sustainability in action. Sustainable farming enables the farmer to cut down on input costs and minimizes the impact on the environment by using naturally occurring products to manage a farm.
Sustainable farming is vital for the world's future as resources and environments become negatively affected by commercial agriculture practices. Commercial practices reduce the land's ability to sustain the naturally occurring ecosystem needed for organisms to survive.
Natural resources are lost or destroyed permanently by the use of chemical pesticides/herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, and large machinery.
