Outreach is an essential component within the field of entomology: interacting with the public to spread appreciation for and information about arthropod taxa facilitates new interest in the field and harbors a good relationship between entomologists and the public. In our increasingly digital world, online outreach is a growing avenue for this aspect of entomology. In light of continuing systemic inequities, which exclude underrepresented populations from pursuing outdoor activities and hobbies, creating online platforms that are accessible and inclusive spaces for all who want to interact with the subject of entomology is of utmost importance. Furthermore, creating online platforms that allow everyone an equal chance to engage with entomological topics is a great way to increase diversity in the field. What steps can you take to make sure your online platform is a safe and inclusive space? Here, I will provide a toolkit for anyone interested in developing and maintaining inclusive online platforms.
