One of the consideration of insect agricultural pest research is the necessity to develop tools, methods, and techniques that can be employed in integrated pest management programs. This can be achieved by improving currently existing sterile insect technique management strategies and early detection and rapid response methodologies. I will briefly discuss these two concepts and how it fits into a pest management framework.
