This talk will provide the background information for the sympsoium "2020: A New Vision for Managing the "Wicked Problem" of Pest Resistance. In 2019, a Science Policy Tour was held that explored the socio-economic aspects of resistance management adoption. This talk will provide an overview key learnings and elements to consider in developing and/or desiging events that will enable community-based management of pest issues to improve adoption of resistance management, as well as integrated pest management. The symposium will provide an update from all key stakeholders that attended the 2019 event.
