Noserius indicus (Gahan) and Leptura ambulatrix Gressitt (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) transported with pallets and recorded for the first time in Germany and Europe
The international transportation of solid-wood packing material (WPM) such as pallets is considered as an important pathway for the introduction of non-native insects. Here, we present two cases of introduction of Cerambycids that have been found during inspections of WPM by the plant health control service in Baden-Württemberg (Germany). To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first record of introduction of Noserius indicus and Leptura ambulatrix into Europe. In order to raise awareness of this species in case of recurring introduction elsewhere, some characteristics are presented.
