Termidor® HP II High Precision Termiticide field trial results

Innovation plays an important role at BASF and provides Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) with the most advanced termite treatment products and tools. Since the first U.S. registration of Termidor® in 2000 until today, more than eight million homes have been successfully treated with our Termidor® products. At BASF, new active ingredients are further developed into formulations and use patterns tailored to fit specific markets and customer needs. Each new product must then go through rigorous testing to meet EPA standards before submission for federal approval and registration. Termidor® HP II High Precision Termiticide is the latest termiticide product launched by BASF. It was launched in 2018 as part of our Integrated Termite Management (ITM) Program. Experimental Use Permit (EUP) and field testing were initiated in 2014 with the treatment of 81 structures across the U.S. The EPA required that selected structures be representative of different environmental conditions, regions, termite pressure, termite species, and foundation types with a strong focus on basement type. All structures were successfully treated with Termidor® HP II Termiticide using the Termidor® HP II High Precision Injection System. The structures exterior perimeter was treated including treating around patios and abutting slabs without the need to drill, unless termites were present at those locations. Trial results showed between 96.3% to 100% control throughout the 5-year study and demonstrated that Termidor® HP II Termiticide, when applied following this labor-saving use pattern, offers structural protection from subterranean termites.
