Peter Landolt was my postdoc supervisor who taught me chemical ecology. Pete passed on to me a deep appreciation and fascination for social wasps which I continue to cultivate in my current research. The work we did on pear psylla was very challenging and yet was so rewarding, and Pete's support was invaluable to identifying a sex pheromone for pear psylla. The most important lesson I learned from Pete was to be assertive and confident (though I am still learning to do that!)
